A Holland Lop Rabbit

By: Diniana

Here some information about Holland Lop rabbits . Lop rabbits are the most distinctive and easily recognizable of all the breeds. The Lop breeds of the past included bunnys whose ears flopped forward over their faces and rabbits whose ears both flopped over to the same side. These breeds are extinct now, and the lop we see today is the bunny of choice. He can have huge ears, witch flop down beside its head like a Basset Hound's and give it the special look of the breed. Now there are four breeds of rabbits: the English Lop, French Lop, Holland Lop and Mini Lop. Each of them are unique in both its appearance and history. The English Lop is one of the oldest breeds. The French Lop is a mix of an English Lop and a Flemish Giant. He differs by a heavier stature. The Holand Lop , a dwarf breed of lop, is from Holland. He has the same color varieties: agouti, broken, pointed white, self, solid, shaded and ticked. The mini Holland Lop rabbit is also a relatively new bread of Lop. He is significantly smaller.

There are an enormous variety of breeds among pet rabbits. A rabbit show is the best place to see them all. There are two broad categories of breeds. These are fancy and fur. Fancy breeds are those bred mainly for show purposes whereas the fur breeds are bred for more general purposes. It is the older breeds witch come into the fancy category. Modern breeds were evolved for their fur. The Holland Lop rabbit is a fancy breed
